Identify my hub type and PCD
Lazy hubs, hub drums and disc hubs and rotors all come in a range of different stud patterns and bearing combinations. When you are replacing a hub it is important to identify the correct hub from your trailer and we can show you how to do that.
All of the hub assemblies at Trailer Spares Direct come with seals, bearings, studs and stud nuts and dust caps.
Lazy hubs, hub drums and disc hubs and rotors all come in a range of different stud patterns and bearing combinations, so when you are replacing a hub it is important to identify the correct hub from your trailer. For example, it is possible to have a Ford stud pattern with LM (Holden) bearings.
Measuring PCD
- Identify the number and size of studs on your hub,
- Measure the PCD (Pitch circle diameter). The diagram below illustrates how to do this on 4, 5 and 6 stud hubs.
- Identify inner and outer bearing. Bearings have the number stamped into them or you can measure them with verniers. Read our article on bearing identification for details.
