Off-road electric magnets are specific to each side and reduce rattle and movement. The hi-temp plastic insert stops the metal to metal contact between the magnet body and magnet arm. With a standard magnet over time, it is the metal to metal contact when vibrating that can cause a stress fracture in the magnet arm and cause it to break off. This is a common fault on off-road camper trailers that have traveled a lot of rough and highly corrugated dirt roads.
